Acquisitions ahoy! PeaPod acquires Scottish legal IT vendor Pace Pro
UK legal software vendor Peapod has just announced that Pace Professional Systems has joined the Peapod LegalOffice group. This move has been undertaken to strengthen Pace’s LawPro brand by adding the skills, experience and knowledge of Peapod’s 40 strong staff with over 20 years experience in the industry. Peapod have a client base of over 1,100 firms already, in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and the acquisition of Pace Pro Systems will allow them to strengthen their position in the North of England and to take root in Scotland for the first time.
LawPro will become part of the Peapod product range and will be actively developed, sold and supported by the new owners. Current PPS directors Derek Bruce and Ronnie Paton will remain as directors of the new organisation and will continue with business as usual within the new, larger company structure with the objective of promoting LawPro to a wider range of prospects and working on the development of future releases of the software.
Ronnie and Derek said “We have always believed that LawPro is one of the best and most robust software packages available and that it merits a much wider use. This new set of circumstances will allow us to turn that belief into results.”
Peapod CEO Ian Wimbush said “We are delighted to have acquired such a strong company as Pace Professional Systems, we have been looking to enter the Scottish legal market for some time and this is the ideal way to do it. We look forward to a very productive future working with Ronnie, Derek and their clients”
