Applications Manager – London Law Firm, £80k + benefits & bonuses
Our client is a rapidly expanding and highly regarded international law firm with offices in Central London. The firm has expanded rapidly through acquisitions and generic growth over the past few years and to support this expansion, it is now seeking an experienced Applications Manager to join its highly professional ICT team.
Responsibilities will include:
Accountable for developing and prioritising regional application portfolio, database systems and development roadmap; work closely with stakeholders, direct reports, and the IT Director (UKMEA).
Contribute towards the development of the overall strategic methodology and best practice guidelines for administering and maintaining the regional application portfolio, database systems and development such as Document Management, Elite financial and practice management, CRM, in order to support the firm’s needs.
Provide technical oversight for developing database storage structure (data warehouse), primary objects, data maps, scripts and reporting in concert with regional requirements and global standards.
Manages, leads and develops team of Applications Analysts, Database Administrators and developers in a distributed and centralised computing architecture. Provide technical leadership with ability to effectively translate business and user requirements to technical solutions.
Management responsibility for the development of the new SharePoint system both in-house and the potential future cloud solution and management of all applications developed on SharePoint.
Manage the identification and quality assurance processes relating to key database systems, regional applications and development work – including, but not limited to, status reports, risk management memorandums, change control, and issue management.
Provides guidance, influence and architectural focus for other IT teams and support departments to analyse and implement solutions for technical, operational, and/or strategic solutions.
Support and manage overall project methodology and best practice guidelines relating to application, database and development initiatives in concert with firm and departmental standards.
Manage the professional and technical development of UKMEA team to set appropriate goals and to monitor, mentor and coach each individual.
Provides governance to ensure all technical database systems, development, application portfolio and infrastructure adhere to the firm’s security policies and procedures.
Prepare proper processes and guidelines relating to the selection, implementation and management of automated operations, testing and other operational support tools to gain work efficiencies, consistent with firm standards.
Assist in defining and implementing a continual set of IT benchmarks to be used to measure the operational performance of all software, database and development systems and the performance of the team overall.
Manage the integration of Applications with other systems.
Assisting with the Data Architecture
Manage vendor relationships
Manage software maintenance contracts
You will need the following experience:
•Expert in network server infrastructure, database design and implementation life cycle, methodologies, tools and practices.
•Experience of successfully managing technical teams with at least five direct and indirect reports exclusive of contractors/ consultants in a multi-site user LAN/WAN environment.
