Are Old Lawyers like the Four Yorkshiremen?

The other week I was talking to a retired lawyer who’d recently revisited his old law firm and was shocked by all the technology and business processes they’d now invested in. His reaction reminded me of the old Four Yorkshiremen TV sketch. Here’s the original version, performed by John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Tim Brook-Taylor and Marty Feldman on At Last, the 1948 Show (circa 1967/68).

There is a more recent Monty Python version of this sketch.

Fantastic clip there Charles… Note to self – reduce emphasis on romantisicing my experience in 1970’s Assembler programming in the ‘when I were a lad’ sections of my presentations 🙂 By ‘eck it were tough then though! 80 Column punch cards holed wi’ me own teeth no less. Have a great weekend!

Punched with your own teeth! When I were a lad, we were too poor to have teeth and we could only afford 78 column punch cards.
