With more than 35 years of combined experience serving the legal services industry, Counsel On Call and DSi have worked with half of the FORTUNE 100 and one-third of AmLaw 200 firms, as well as hundreds of other corporations, small and mid-size firms and state and federal government agencies. The consistent growth and people-first commitment of both companies have resulted in being named to Inc. magazine’s ‘5000 fastest-growing companies’ list 11 times, multiple national and client awards for a commitment to diversity and innovation, the only legal industry provider on Inc. magazine’s ‘Top 50 Places To Work’ list, and dozens of other awards for leadership and workplace environment.
“We will leverage DSi’s unique blend of technology expertise and industry insights to drive further automation in order to provide additional value for our clients,” said Barry Dark, chief executive officer of Counsel On Call. “As an industry, we are in the early stages of innovation in how legal services are delivered, and we are excited to be well-positioned to collaborate with clients to accelerate this transformation.”
As a combined entity, the company now has three secure managed services facilities, multiple SOC 2-certified data hosting and management facilities and more than 1,000 attorneys. This comprehensive and security-driven operational structure supports unprecedented solutions throughout the spectrum of litigation and eDiscovery services, including data governance, collection, processing, hosting and managed document review. Additionally, with DSi’s expansive technical capabilities, Counsel On Call enhances its offerings in M&A due diligence and corporate transactions, contracts knowledge management and CMS integration, compliance, employment and a host of other business-critical practice areas.
“Counsel On Call has long been a pioneering alternative legal services provider, and its Managed Services Division sets the standard for how people, processes and platforms work to improve quality and save time and money,” said Tom Turner, DSi’s co-founder, CEO & steward of purpose. “Together, we have achieved great things for clients and this partnership will only expand what we can accomplish.”
Counsel On Call will operate DSi independently out of its current offices in Nashville, and DSi will work side-by-side with Counsel On Call’s Managed Services Division. Both companies will continue conducting business as usual with their clients and under their current names.
“We have worked with DSi for many years as partners and are excited to welcome them formally into the Counsel On Call family,” Dark said. “This combination supports our mutual strategy to provide innovative and technology-enabled solutions that solve our clients’ complex legal and business needs. Out of the gate, we will support this ever-increasing demand in a way that meets our clients’ economic constraints while improving the quality and usability of project deliverables.”
Counsel On Call and DSi have collaborated for nearly a decade to serve clients, operating with similar strategic visions and progressive cultures to provide value-added solutions to corporate legal departments and law firms. This combination will allow Counsel On Call and DSi to provide better service for clients and result in increased efficiency in distribution for both brands.
