Dentons’ Nextlaw in-house arm hiring for new legal ops role
The growth within private practice of senior legal operations roles continues apace as Dentons’ in-house consultancy business Nextlaw In-House Solutions begins recruiting for the newly created role of legal operations director. Reporting CEO Chris Pinnington, the position will involve designing and delivering products to drive the value, efficiency and effectiveness of clients’ inhouse legal teams.
The legal operations director will work alongside Nextlaw’s chief client officer David Pickwoad and support a team of more than 50 former in-house counsel lawyers. The new hire will also have direct in-house experience in order to fully understand the challenges and opportunities that clients face.
Dentons launched Nextlaw Labs in 2015 and the NextLaw brand now includes spin off businesses including the in-house consultancy and NextLaw Referral Network. Nextlaw Labs is headed by CEO Dan Jansen. Jansen handed over the Labs CEO role to Marie Bernard at the end of 2017 to lead a shift in strategy towards client-facing solutions, however she left a year later, with Jansen returning to CEO. There has been little public communication around this change of leadership.
