Advanced Discovery just announced the acquisition of Millnet, the largest and longest established UK-headquartered ediscovery, litigation support and legal document services firm. The acquisition supports Advanced Discovery’s strategy to meet clients’ growing global eDiscovery needs. Clients will now have access to eDiscovery services across the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
“The Millnet acquisition supports Advanced Discovery’s strategy to meet clients’ growing global eDiscovery needs,” said David Vandygriff, CEO of Advanced Discovery. “Millnet is one of the most highly respected international eDiscovery service providers. We are thrilled to welcome the Millnet team to Advanced Discovery.”
After the recent demise of the US-EU Safe Harbor agreement, which gave qualified US companies a safety net under EU data protection laws to move European’s personal data across the Atlantic, many US companies are considering keeping eDiscovery data in Europe. Millnet’s ISO 27001-certified data center in the UK gives Advanced Discovery customers the option to leave data in the EU as data protection legal requirements emerge in the coming months.
Providing eDiscovery services and technology to international law firms and their clients for over 15 years through offices in London and Dubai, the Millnet brand will be retained, with continuity of services to all clients, and will operate as Millnet, an Advanced Discovery company. Millnet’s team of experts includes solicitors, litigation support and digital forensic professionals, project managers and IT security experts. Their extensive experience specializes in UK eDisclosure and international eDiscovery litigation, investigative and regulatory matters, including the stringent EU data privacy and protection mandates.
The expanded services offered by the combined companies will now include:
· Legal staffing
· Managed document review
· Forensic collections & investigations
· Early case assessment
· Production & processing
· Data and web hosting
· Paper discovery services
· Photocopying, scanning & coding
· Batch printing
· Digital print
· Medical records management
· Virtual data rooms
James Moeskops will lead the Advanced Discovery EMEA regional operations as the managing director, international business. “Advanced Discovery’s deep eDiscovery expertise and global expansion strategy is a perfect fit for Millnet and our clients,” said Moeskops, formerly managing director of Millnet. “eDiscovery is truly a global affair for many of our large clients. We are excited to offer Millnet customers Advanced Discovery’s international and US eDiscovery expertise, technology, services and facilities -including document review and data centers across 15 US cities. We see a great deal of need for eDiscovery in the US as international clients respond to increases in cross-border investigations by US and European regulators. We are thrilled to join the now 500 employees on the Advanced Discovery global team.”
