Job Purpose

The Enterprise Information Architect will contribute to the overall design of the enterprise information & data architecture, across multiple data types (structured, semi-structured and unstructured) and in line with the strategic business and technical drivers of Clifford Chance. His or her information architecture experience and skills will complement the major technical areas within the IT Department’s remit. Their major tasks will be sourced from a variety of strategic initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities

They will:
• Create and design Information & Data Architecture solutions by leveraging skills and experience across business, information, application, integration, security and infrastructure architectures.
• Lead architecture engagements for information systems to ensure proper governance, security and quality of information assets
• Have an understanding of regulatory issues surrounding information assets (such as consumer privacy laws, data retention policies, outsourced data and specific industry guidelines)
• Contribute to the development and governance of an Information Architecture Framework, best practices and processes to advance the Data and Information Management maturity
• Analyse and model data concepts across the enterprise, expressed as reference frameworks, data models and lifecycle models
• Create conceptual and logical data models for systems working in collaboration with business stakeholders, solution architects, product and development teams
• Provide expertise on Data Management capabilities and be an advocate for information architecture across the organization.

Skills and Qualifications

They will need to have the following skills/experience:

• In-depth experience of designing and implementing information & data solutions including data/information modelling expertise at the enterprise level
• Experience in the design and construction of information architectures that enable well-integrated transactional, collaborative and analytical systems
• Experience with the design and implementation of knowledge management systems, search and taxonomies.
• Experience of creating information policies and governance to support the effective design of information systems and use of information across the enterprise
• Experience with information security, information classification and information masking
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts/theories for a variety of stakeholders
• Excellent influencing, communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations and senior stakeholders
The following skills/experience would be advantageous:
• Experience/knowledge of SOA based Enterprise Data architectures
• Experience/knowledge of designing and optimizing data integration architectures
• Experience/knowledge of working with Master Data Management (MDM), Data Quality and Metadata
