Epona announces first win – an Open Text swap out – for its new DMS

Dutch law firm Kennedy Van der Laan has signed with Epona to implement their recently announced DMS4Legal (powered by Microsoft SharePoint 2010) document management platform. After a selection process, in which other suppliers and solutions were evaluated, Joost Linnemann, managing partner, said “We firmly believe Microsoft SharePoint is the way forward for document management in law firms. Although, in many respects, SharePoint 2010 still falls short in comparison to some of the enterprise document management systems used in larger law firms today. Epona’s DMS4Legal closes the gap and provides us with all the document management functionality we need”. The firm will be swapping-out its current Open Text eDocs DM system.

Jaap van Vliet, Epona “This is the first deal followed by many. With our long experience implementing document and email management systems we succeeded in building a solution based on Microsoft SharePoint. We have had the technology to do it for years. The reason why we waited for the launch of SharePoint 2010 is that this version is more suited to host a legal DMS.”

I am very excited about the success of these Epona developed applications.

I think he uses the word “excited” a bit too much in his quotes.
