Aderant's EMEA regional user conference – Aderant Momentum EMEA 2013 – kicked off in London yesterday with a full day of sessions and keynotes, followed up by a dinner and awards ceremony. It was also good to see that Aderant's entire senior management team had flown over from the US for the event. We'll be publishing a podcast and an interview we recorded at the event on this site next week but in the meantime here are the three headline stories…

• the recently merged Herbert Smith Freehills is going to use Aderant Expert as its financial and practice management platform because it is “the only true global solution for large law firms” in that it can offer a distributed technology supporting local operations in Australia and London while still keeping all databases in sync.

• three AmLaw Top 200 US law firms (including one Insider Global Top 10 firm) are currently in the process of swapping out their LexisNexis Interaction CRM systems in favour of the Aderant CRM4Legal product.

• Aderant is now 12 months into developing its own case management system – that's case management as it is understood in the UK. This will be a fully integrated product – as distinct from a linked 3rd party point solution – with a 2014 launch date. Aderant see it as a challenger to LexisNexis Visualfiles and both Thomson Reuters Elite MatterSphere and LawSoft.
