UK legal transformation consultancy Jalubro has appointed legal technology leader David Lumsden as advisor to the board, we can reveal. Lumsden, who brings with him more than three decades of experience of building and scaling businesses, joins as Jalubro enters a growth phase, having recently launched new AI governance platform Ephiria.
Lumsden is one of the UK legal technology sector’s most experienced executives. Having started in legal as the CIO of international law firm Ashurst, he then spent 13 years as CEO of Tikit Group, growing the business before its acquisition by BT. In 2017 he took over as CEO of RAVN Systems, helping the young company to navigate its acquisition by iManage. His subsequent roles include CEO of Enable Business Solutions and legal tech consultancy Pinnacle. Following Harbor’s acquisition of Pinnacle in 2024, Lumsden joined Harbor’s international leadership team, where he served as regional head of operations and integration until June 2025.
Lumsden’s appointment comes as Jalubro accelerates its technology business and expands its proprietary technology offering with the launch of Ephiria. As law firms and legal teams adopt AI tools such as Harvey, CoCounsel, Legora and Claude, and AI evolves from copilots that assist lawyers to AI agents capable of acting across systems and workflows, organisations face a growing challenge around how that activity is governed and evidenced. Ephiria provides an independent control layer across that environment. It applies organisational, client and matter-level policy at the point of use and execution, protecting sensitive information before it reaches an AI model through redaction, and governing what AI agents are permitted to do before an action is taken.
Lumsden will advise Jalubro’s leadership on its technology strategy, international growth and the continued scaling of the business.
Arran Braganza, founder and CEO of Jalubro, said: “David has been involved in building some of the most important businesses in legal technology over the past three decades. There are very few people who combine his understanding of law firms and technology with the commercial experience of building and scaling technology businesses.”
He noted that Jalubro is already an established business, working with an impressive client base of law firms and corporate legal teams globally, commenting: “Our ambition is to build on that position by developing and delivering more of our own technology. David’s experience will be enormously valuable as we scale that side of the business and pursue that ambition internationally.”
Jalubro’s senior team includes chief client & commercial officer Nick Morgan, who has previously held senior roles at the likes of Thomson Reuters and Xapien, and COO Andrew Murray, who has worked at companies including Harbor, Pinnacle and Thomson Reuters.
Speaking to Legal IT Insider about his new role, Lumsden said: “I’m really looking forward to working with the Jalubro team, which has such a long-established record in the legal technology sector and many years of experience.”
He added: “I’ve spent much of my career working with technology businesses at moments when the legal industry is undergoing significant change, and I believe we are entering one of those periods now. What particularly interests me about Jalubro is the combination of an established business, strong relationships across the legal market and a genuine ambition to build technology around where the industry is heading next. Ephiria is a good example of that. As firms adopt more AI tools and increasingly move towards agentic technology, having independent infrastructure that allows them to maintain control across that environment is going to become increasingly important.”
