National UK law firm Stone King has appointed Jas Bassi as its inaugural IT director, marking a significant milestone in the firm’s continued investment in technology, digital transformation and information security. Stone King, which employs around 350 people, previously had a head of IT and operations, Kes Bailey, who sadly passed away last year.
Bassi will be responsible for leading the firm’s technology strategy, overseeing IT operations, driving digital innovation. He is charged in particular with delivering on an AI strategy and managing the risks and opportunities around that.
Bassi has more than 25 years of experience in technology leadership, including eight years at Gateley, latterly as head of solutions delivery. He joins Stone King – which has offices in London, Cambridge, Bath, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds – at a time of growth for the firm, including hiring for several net new roles. Stone King made headlines this year by overhauling its training contract, lengthening it by six months and adding seats focused on AI and business development.
Bassi, who heads a team of 10, will be based in Birmingham. His hire follows the arrival last year of new CEO Vicky Brackett, who joined from Irwin Mitchell, having led on the acquisition of Thomas Eggar.
