The Federation Against Software Theft & Investors in Software (FAST IiS) has just issued a clarfication statement to say that FAST IiS and FAST Ltd are two independent trading entities with no formal commercial or financial links outside the licensing of the FAST brand name.

John Lovelock, chief executive of FAST IiS, said “FAST Limited was acquired initially by the CS Group in May 2007, which was in turn acquired by the IRIS Group in July 2007 and since that time there has been confusion in the market. I would like to clarify the position. We are not the same, nor are we part of the same or related organisation.”

Glad that's cleared up then. Of course they could change the name if the confusion is that much of a problem?
