iManage today (7 September) announced it has broadened its Work Product Management portfolio with the acquisition of Elegrity, a leading San Francisco-based provider of risk and compliance management software and solutions.
Elegrity has gained market recognition for its solutions for managing conflicts of interest, new business intake and other key risk mitigation processes in law firms. iManage brings complementary skills and infrastructure to enhance Elegrity’s software applications and accelerate its growth. This acquisition enables iManage Work Product Management to efficiently and comprehensively manage key risk and compliance processes from client intake throughout the client and matter lifecycle.
iManage and Elegrity clients can expect to benefit from:
– A unified approach, supported with enhanced integration between new business intake, conflicts management, ethical walls and need-to-know security, legal holds, data loss prevention and records management. This can deliver world-class security and risk management at a significantly lower cost and with increased IT agility.
– Access to advanced R&D from iManage Labs including automation of compliance processes through the use of RAVN AI and improvements to the conflicts and new business intake user experience, leveraging iManage’s award-winning user experience design team.
– Increased investment in R&D, support, documentation and professional services, leveraging iManage’s global presence and partner channel, to support global firms.
– Access to over 200 man-years of combined expertise in the risk and compliance space, significantly enhancing iManage’s ability to understand and guide customers through the complex compliance landscape.
“We recently selected Elegrity for conflicts management because of its well thought out product and strong customer references,” said Doug Caddell, CIO, Mayer Brown. “The combination with iManage, with whom we have partnered with for over 15 years, is exciting because it has the potential to simplify and enhance what these solutions can do and what it takes to manage and maintain them.”
Elegrity will operate as a business unit of iManage, led by Joy Spicer, CEO and founder of Elegrity. “Joining iManage provides us with better access to the global legal market and will help us accelerate development of new risk and compliance management capabilities, setting us further apart from the competition,” said Spicer. “iManage was a natural choice for our progression because they offered the resources, technology and process infrastructure we need to accelerate adoption of our technology.”
“Our vision is to provide firms with a platform for digital transformation,” said Neil Araujo, CEO, iManage. “By enhancing the risk and compliance capabilities that iManage can provide, we enable our customers to be more secure and productive while reducing the cost of compliance. Elegrity and iManage share a common set of values including an obsession for customer success. The Elegrity team significantly deepens our ability to drive successful outcomes for customers that are modernizing their risk, security and governance posture.”
We will shortly publish a full interview with iManage CMO Dan Carmel and Spicer, but needless to say, this acquisition means iManage is now firmly competing with Intapp, which is also an iManage partner.
