The opportunity
To work within the Server & Storage Infrastructure team with specific responsibility for providing proactive support for the core infrastructure of servers, server-based applications and the network within the London and European Offices.
This role will cover maternity leave (until 19th May 2017) within a team of 4, covering shift patterns ranging from 08:00 – 18:00. As maternity cover, the role primarily provides support of the infrastructure and working with third parties on specific projects, ensuring all communication and documentation is updated throughout.
Key responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management: proactive management of all servers in terms of hardware, software, services and applications. This includes data, disk and SAN/SVM management in addition to rebuilds and major application upgrades
Server Maintenance regular resilience testing, load balancing and disaster recovery testing. Periodic system restore to check data integrity. Patch/firmware management/installation
Storage Maintenance: proactive monitoring and management of the SAN & NAS Storage Infrastructure, in relation to software, hardware, disk space and performance. This includes upgrades, repairs and replacements of all components
Infrastructure Monitoring proactive monitoring including but not limited to AD, Exchange, SQL, Firewall and Citrix and response to resolution of issues/alerts
New infrastructure Installation responsible for specifying, building and maintaining new servers as per the agreed server configuration including all appropriate back-up and DR requirements. Installation and testing of relevant operating systems and applications in addition to the updating of all associated documentation
Anti-Virus Management: implementation, management and review of anti-virus services within KWM including operational updates and general service management.
Capacity Management: working with the Technical Projects Team to ensure that all systems and servers have appropriate capacity to deliver the agreed services and for developing, presenting and implementing any plans/activities needed to maintain these
Security Management: working with the Technical Projects team to define, implement and maintain security policies across all KWM core systems
Database Management: proactive monitoring and management of all core SQL databases in addition to any relevant DBA duties
Remote Connectivity: proactive management of all remote services/servers
Best Practice Documentation: responsible for the development, documentation and regular review of best practices with respect but not limited to infrastructure management, installation procedures, build procedures and disaster recovery
Document Management Solutions: responsible for the updating and support of the DMS infrastructure inclusive of but not limited to the Database, Document repository and Indexes. Working closely with the Worksite Administrator to ensure best practise is adhere to
Datacentre Management; Management of Primary and Secondary Datacentres, providing access to third parties, attending and investigating Datacentre issues with the third party and ensuring environmental conditions are appropriate
Additional duties would include:
Implementation of any server/build based changes as requested by Business and IT Driven Projects
Project activities as agreed by the Server & Storage Manager and the relevant Project Manager
Server & Storage Infrastructure Escalation Support to cover sickness and absence as directed by the Server & Storage Manager
Co-ordination of Technical Project tasks as required

Excellent knowledge of the use of TCP/IP on a Microsoft platform
Working knowledge of SQL Server, SharePoint and PowerShell
Working knowledge of Citrix /remote access service support.
Professional Qualifications(MCITP) in Operating System and Server Applications

Education/ Experience
At least 2 years’ experience working within a networked computing infrastructure with ideally 1000 users. Spanning multiple countries
MCSA Windows 2012 or Windows 2008 – Essential
MCSE Server infrastructure – Essential
MCSE Private Cloud – Desirable
MCSE Messaging – Desirable
MCSD Azure Solution Architect – Desirable
Days/ Hours:
Monday to Friday on a shift pattern 8:00 – 18:00 (8:00 – 17:00/10:00 – 18:00)
The 3rd line server support analyst will at times be required to cover the on-call rota during staff absences, providing 24 hour out of hours services.
