A respected, global law firm in central London are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to join them on an initial 6 month fixed-term contract, with likelihood of extension and potential to go permanent. The BA will be involved in a large HR Systems project, whereby they will work with the business and vendor and gather high level requirements around graduate recruitment, employee portals. The ideal candidate will come from a professional servies firm (ideally a law firm).


Creating agreed deliverables: RWP; BRD; Options Paper
Facilitating workshops with the business and consultancy
Challenging in interviews and workshops to elicit the real business needs from the solution
Proactively identifying and resolving business issues in relation to the firms external facing sites to help the firm achieve strategic goals
Working across the business to analyse global requirements and assess the impact on the business operationally and technically with regards to implementing and maintaining an HR system
Providing business analysis throughout the first phase of the project – requirements gathering, requirements analysis; strategic analysis
Recommending actions that will overcome the identified problems, achieve the strategic benefits or increase efficiency and effectiveness
Acting as liaison between the business and technical staff
Being flexible with regard to some travel and overnight stays
Handling confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols

Experience & Skills Required:

Minimum of 3 year’s proven demonstrable experience in the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems or products – within a professional services firm
Experience of working on HR projects preferred
Experience of working with business stakeholders/representatives at all levels and demonstrable ability to present and discuss at a senior level within the firm
Excellent understanding of businesses goals and objectives
Expert in process mapping, requirements elicitation and workshop facilitation
Understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing a global HR system across the firm
Working with and managing third party deliverables to tight deadlines
Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high pressure environment to tight deadlines is critical
Understands the full project life cycle, but has an expert awareness of specific deliverables which are the responsibility for the business analyst
Proficient with requirements capture and diagramming tools eg Visio
Formal Business Analysis accreditation preferred
