IT Developer – Furley Page Solicitors

We are looking for an experienced IT Developer to join our IT team. This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) on a 12 month fixed term contract based at our Canterbury city centre office.

You will have at least 1 years’ experience within a Visualfiles software developer role although experience in similar case management software development would be considered. In addition it would be desirable for you to have previous experience with .NET and SQL, including SSRS. and web technology such as HTML, PHP, XML, web services and Java Script.

You will have a good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel including writing macros and VBA along with an understanding of the software life cycle and experience of case development and/or business information reporting is important.

In addition, previous experience of working in a full life-cycle development environment, providing business analysis and technical specifications through to development and testing.

Previous experience within a legal environment would be very desirable.

Your key responsibilities will include the development of new and existing workflows and other business solutions in Visualfiles and related technologies, developing reporting solutions and integrate them with other business systems, maintain and enhance the firm’s Intranet and client facing web services, responsible for gathering and documenting new requirements, and working with the wider IT Team and business stakeholders to deliver new projects. In addition you will ensure that technical issues are resolved as soon as possible, provide 3rd line support including working with end users effectively where necessary.

You will be confident with the ability to work with a wide range of people and deal with demanding situations, have the ability to manage prioritised task lists, have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills written, in person and on the telephone along with the ability to solve technical problems over the telephone and in person.
