IT Learning Officer – London Law Firm

Law Firm Trainer London

Our client is an international law firm looking to hire an IT Learning Officer for a role providing training for the firm’s users and managing their new starter induction programme.

The role will have the following responsibilities
The coordination and delivery of all IT and Finance Systems training in the firm’s two London offices and at our IT Service Desk office
IT Induction training for all new joiners to the firm, including identifying the joiners’ abilities on IT systems and adapting delivery to meet their training needs
Tailor and deliver ad-hoc training which will include both group and 1:1 sessions, eLearning, development of trainer notes and written training guides including (but not limited to):
Microsoft Windows, Office (with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Word)
Worksite DMS
Finance and time-recording systems
Digital dictation systems
The roll-out of new software and hardware products, including:
Aspects of project management
Attendance at project meetings
Tailoring new training material
Software Testing and pilot groups
Floor-walking support
Promotional and marketing exercises (e.g. road shows)
Train the trainer
Improving and refining training courses, eLearning and Inductions.
Manage the ongoing training needs and Induction programme for the firm’s IT Service Desk and Deskside teams, including weekly “surgery” sessions on-site at the firm’s IT Service Desk
Undertake such formal IT qualifications as may be necessary to maintain the effective delivery of training
Collect and collate feedback from delegates regarding the quality of training delivered, feed this into the wider training team so that improvements to training can be made holistically
Build and maintain an effective internal people network including:
regular liaison with the firm’s IT Support partner with a view to improving the quality of calls, identifying trends, sharing knowledge and reducing costs incurred by calls to the Service Desk
Work closely with the BIS Projects team, BIS Document Systems team and BIS MDS team to ensure that training needs for new deployments are covered
Build strong working relationships with key business stakeholders
Assist in the operational service delivery of the BIS User Support group, which may include:
Ensuring all training and template queries logged in SNOW are actioned in a timely manner
Providing support to the Service Desk for complex document production or document management issues
Review the firm’s Change Control system regularly
Act as a subject matter expert in the areas of document production, participating in discussions and voicing opinions and recommendations in meetings
Key Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as an IT Trainer within a professional services environment
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook. Excellent working knowledge of Windows 7 and other Microsoft Office products
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with delegates at all grades and levels; ability to translate complex technical language into clear and concise “plain English”
Experience of a DMS system in a legal or professional services environment – previous experience of Worksite would be a distinct advantage
Basic Project Management skills and/or experience of working in an ITIL environment would be advantageous
Being a strong team player with the ability to self-motivate is important
