We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Network Support Engineer with strong experience in Microsoft Exchange 2010 to join our Bristol office on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 3rd line support for OC’s global Exchange 2010 email infrastructure, along with providing support on elements of the wider Data and Telephony Network Infrastructure, Servers and Systems.

We’re looking for somebody with experience of working in a demanding network support environment with a high level of personal responsibility. A high level of technical expertise is essential, as is the ability to create and maintain IT documentation and records maintaining attention to detail.

You will be well-organised, self-motivated and a problem solver who can work collaboratively as part of a wider team and also independently, with the best interests of the team and your customers being paramount.

Good initiative and judgement are essential, as is the ability to oversee multiple work streams to tight deadlines and perform accurately under such constraints.

The preferred technical knowledge requirements for this position are;

Recent demonstrable experience in managing an Exchange 2010 infrastructure for 1000+ users over multiple locations
Likely to be MCITP certified with 70-662 and 70-663
Microsoft messaging experience particularly Microsoft Lync 2010 & 2013
MPLS management and troubleshooting WAN/LAN data communications, VPN Management
Avaya VoIP and Unified Communications knowledge
Security Solutions such as Checkpoint firewalls
Server and PC operating systems, including Windows XP/7, Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server
SQL 2005/2008 R2.
VMware 4 or 5
SharePoint 2010
Knowledge of replication both built-in and bolt-on
SAN/NAS, EMC Clariion & VNX experience
Document Management Systems experience
Mobile and wireless voice and data communications
Remote working solutions including Terminal Services, Laptop, Blackberry, PDA and Mobile Phone Support
Server hardware (Dell) including Blade enclosures
Backup Exec, tape libraries
Patch management systems including SCCM, WSUS and SCOM
ITIL or IT Service Management experience
Helpdesk/ServiceDesk or call management solutions and workflow tools
What you will do:

Reporting to the Head of IT Operations, you’ll be responsible for the following:

Take ownership of the delivery of the Microsoft 2010 Exchange service ensuring maximum availability for users globally.
Ensure that the Exchange Infrastructure and design is adequately scaled to meet future needs and that services are fully documented and understood by other team members.
To support, operate and manage the delivery of the operational platforms, hardware, its various operating systems and core technologies
To support, operate and manage the delivery of the physical network (data and voice) and its components
To maintain and develop the integrity and security of all components comprising various client’s network and operational platforms, including all data
Work in collaboration with suppliers, and with other members of the IT teams to ensure the smooth delivery of services to the firm
Assist in the maintenance of any required documentation and meeting reporting requirements
Ensuring timely and quality closure of trouble tickets and service requests in accordance with established SLA’s, 24×7.
Act as a resource for employees regarding any computer questions or applications, in person and through the use of an IT ticket system.
