Just what your secretary always wanted…

We had to check the date on this – but no, it's not a premature April Fool's story…



A US software company is selling a special downloable font character (currently only available for Windows PCs and Blackberrys) called a 'SarcMark' (it looks like an upside down @) that you can type after a phrase, sentence or comment to show you are being sarcastic – so you don't inadvertently offend readers. There is even a YouTube video to watch although we can't help feel that some of SarcMan's comments are rude, rather than sarcastic. We'd like to propose an alternative: a 'MoronMark' (or MoMark) you can type at the start of sentences to warn people that if they lack a sense of humour they might not understand what follows.

This is one of those things that will either vanish into obscurity, or the fellow will make millions. He'd be better to make the font free and charge for advertising on the download site.
