Knowledge managers win prizes

City law firm Reynolds Porter Chamberlain won the Best Knowledge Management Initiative or Implementation in a Professional Services Firm Award at the recent Knowledge Management UK 2011 Awards. Andrew Woolfson, RPC’s Director of Knowledge Management and Capability, comments: “We were delighted to be presented with this award for our cutting edge new intranet.”

RPC’s internal business networking system – Edge – was also singled out as one of the best intranets currently in the market at the online event IBF 24 on May 17 to 18. Edge is a new intranet system created specifically for RPC by social business consultancy Headshift, a DachisGroup company, designed to take the benefits of social media and apply them to a business context, while accommodating the unique demands of a legal environment. Recognising that a law firm’s strength is in its people, Edge aims to help the firm’s lawyers and other personnel communicate key information and keep up-to-date on current events while maximising collaboration and knowledge sharing. The awards organisers said that when RPC's Andrew Woolfson demonstrated the system it was an “Aha! moment – trusting what works for your organisation is what matters.”
