Kroll Ontrack today announced it is doubling its research and development (R&D) team over the next five years. Nearly 80 new specialists will be hired prior to the end of 2012 in Katowice, Poland, making it the company’s largest R&D centre outside the U.S.
“Data is our passion at Kroll Ontrack and this is evident in our technology and its performance,” said Chuck Crymble, CTO, Kroll Ontrack. “This investment in R&D will enable us to better stay ahead of the data recovery, e-discovery and information management trends and create new technology solutions that not only address our clients’ needs, but anticipate them as well as the opportunities in the broader market.”
“In addition to developing new legal and data and storage technologies, the global R&D expansion initiative better ensures a fully optimised Kroll Ontrack service and project execution schedule,” added Crymble. “Katowice, in particular, is seven hours ahead of headquarters and several leading technology universities are in the area, so Kroll Ontrack is able to maximize its clock coverage with a facility there as well as recruit some of the best and brightest development talent.”
With the addition of the 80 new R&D specialists, the Katowice R&D centre will employ more than 100 IT specialists. On average, 800 cases are resolved in the Kroll Ontrack Katowice data recovery and computer forensics lab each year.
