We’ve got two new win stories for you today from Advanced Legal and Eclipse Legal Systems

• Senate House Chambers, a new Northampton-based set formed in 2014 with 17 established barristers has chosen hosted chambers management solution MLC from Advanced Legal. The Chambers went live with the solution in August 2014.

MLC is the leading chambers management software solution, providing diary, fees, case management, billing and automatic time recording in order to increase efficiency and maximise revenue. Having successfully used Advanced Legal’s previous chambers management solution Meridian Law at their previous chambers, working with Advanced was the obvious choice. Senate House opted for a completely hosted solution as they felt this was the best way to ensure a seamless implementation and fast set up allowing the chambers to be fully up and running a quickly as possible.

Michelle Christie, Joint Head of Chambers, Senate House Chambers comments: “We chose MLC as it has proven to be of immense benefit to us whilst we are establishing ourselves as a forward thinking chambers. Our unique circumstances meant that we went from an idea to going live within a very short timescale. The hosted solution meant that we could be set up quickly and efficiently without needing to worry about a complex IT infrastructure.”

COMMENT: Advanced Legal reports a good summer with eight new law firm customers going live on its ALB practice and case management system ALB during July alone and a further 17 firms select ALB. According to Advanced Legal managing director Doug Hargrove “Advanced typically delivers a software solution from contract signing to implementation in 12 weeks, ensuring customers quickly benefit from their IT investments.”

Next, “after a rigorous and lengthy selection process” to replace its incumbent software, Ringrose Law (which has 130 staff and operates from seven offices providing a broad portfolio of services to private individuals and businesses across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire) is rolling out the integrated Proclaim Practice Management solution from Eclipse Legal Systems across the entire firm. Proclaim process management solutions will be introduced for the Conveyancing and Personal Injury departments, while for less prescriptive work areas (including Court of Protection, Employment, Family, Probate and Crime), Proclaim Matter Management solutions will be utilised.

As part of the practice-wide integrated solution, Ringrose Law will be utilising Proclaim client inception and CRM tools, to manage the ‘new enquiry’ process and introduce business on-stream in a consistent manner. Taking this further, the practice will also benefit from Eclipse’s client self-service toolsets – TouchPoint, SecureDocs and FileView – enabling clients to agree documents online, monitor file progress, and communicate with the firm through the full life of a matter. As an integral part of the system rollout, Eclipse will be carrying out a conversion of both client and financial data from Ringrose Law’s incumbent software systems. (According to Insider archives, the firm’s legacy IT platform is a 2004-vintage LexisNexis Axxia Artiion system.)
