Law Firm IT Support Engineer to £25k (Bristol + travel)
Our client is a global technical consultancy and support company that looks after the needs of some of the largest Law Firms in the UK and beyond. The role of IT Support Engineer has now arisen and the company are looking for a skilled individual to join the company and will be based on client site in Bristol and surrounding areas.
This role will require you as an experienced IT Support Engineer to provide first rate 2nd line Desktop and PC Software support to the Law Firm client. You will demonstrate ownership of calls and become proactive in resolving all issues reported to the IT Support team within the agreed SLA’s and timescales and own such issues through to successful resolution, escalating where appropriate to the relevant 3rd line support teams/management.
Essential knowledge and experience should be:
Good understanding of SLAs, KPIs and general call management
Solid understanding of IT support service, functions and skills
Excellent communication skills at all levels, promoting a positive and professional image of the company at all times
Full UK Driving License
Working knowledge of: Ms Office 2003/2007/2010, Windows XP and 7, Exchange 2003/2010, Windows Server 2003/2008 and SQL 2005/2008
Experience of working in a law firm as part of an IT Support Team
Working knowledge of: Backup Exec, Anti-virus software, Websense, Citrix, Blackberry and mobile devices, digital dictation, IP Telephony.
Familiar with legal applications such as: Filesite, InterAction, Workshare, Laserforms and Visualfiles
Your duties will be to:
Monitor calls logged by the IT Support Desk
Regular management of 2nd line support calls, change requests and work requests
Demonstrate ownership of all calls and become pro-active in resolving problems on a daily basis
Be aware of and set expectations of likely response and resolution times according to agreed SLA
Ensure all relevant administration is completed on time and to a high standard such as ensuring backups are regularly monitored and any problems are logged and resolved/escalated
Configure desktop software and hardware to required standard
Implement and maintain site procedures where necessary.
This role is based at the Law Firm client site in Bristol and you will be required to travel to other client offices (Southampton, Taunton and Birmingham). The position pays up to £25,000 depending onn experience plus a car allowance of £3,420 per annum.
