A leading Regional Law Firm in Scotland is looking to recruit an IT Systems Manager to join the firm. In this role you will be responsible for managing a team of 8 people within various areas of the IT systems team. Essential skills for this role would be that you have worked within a professional services environment and have knowledge of either the Elite Practice Management system or Visualfiles Case Management system and ideally both, but training on one or the other would be provided.

The role will be diverse in a number of areas that involve IT Systems and this will include:

** Project Management of large software projects
** Manage and prioritise developer resources for the Case Management and Systems development pipelines
** Work closely with the IT Team to maintain, manage and support the firm’s software estate
** Maintain the current systems, including the planning, testing and implementation of software upgrades
** Analyse and identify new software and versions of existing systems that may be of use to the Firm
** Update and maintain change control logs for major work on the systems Documentation of systems configuration
** Information Security: Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information throughout the development life cycle and in the maintenance and administration of Systems.

This position is a critical hire for the organisation and ideally you will have the following skills:

** Project Management experience and skills required; associated qualifications desirable
** Proven line management skills required, including team development and handling personnel issues
** Analytical skills, ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions
** Proven software analysis and troubleshooting skills
** General knowledge of computing hardware and networking
** Excellent communication skills are required for this role
SQL Server administration skills, including SQL Server 2005 administration, T-SQL scripting, maintenance plans, back-ups would be desirable
** Good general knowledge of Microsoft Office Products required
** Knowledge of a Practice Management/Finance System highly desirable
** Knowledge of a Document Management System desirable
** Knowledge of a Case Management System desirable
** Detailed knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project desirable
