Our client is a Global Law Firm with an vast IT infrastructure. The company is now looking to recruit a Senior Systems Engineer. This is a technical position within the System Deployment Services team of a Global Law Firm, that architects, implements and supports on the firms build and deployment framework for computer images, PDA, and software portfolio throughout the organisation. This role is very much geared towards skills with application packaging to role out applications and upgrade them on multiple machines across networks.

Your Technical skills should include :

Can demonstrate experience of managing and upgrading applications
A working knowledge of Windows XP/Windows 7, IIS and Active Directory
Able to document technical processes and procedures
Good knowledge of packaging skills, i.e. MSI / AppV
A working knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008, IIS and Active Directory
Proven ability in a development/support environment, including working with international offices
An understanding of Software Delivery technologies, such as SCCM and AppV Management Console.
Strong understanding of Windows Desktops XP and 7.
Ability to write and update VBScripts (at a moderate level).
A working knowledge of ITIL to foundation level (or similar structured approach)

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

Responsible for creating software and computer packages and images for deployment
Provide 2nd/3rd line support for software portfolio and deployment and/or imaging processes
Develop and maintain system test plans and quality control processes for assigned applications
Provide system design and analysis assistance to other user levels and internally to IS
Expert level understanding of multi-tiered application layer in a centralized/distributed/virtual network topology
Package applications, complying with the Firm’s policies and procedures
Perform peer reviews of other team members’ work via the QA process
Provide input on how a package should be packaged (using Appv or MSI
Review and document the team policies and procedures, advising on improvements and changes
Assess upgrades and alternative technologies for packaging

This position is based in central London and pays a salary in the region of £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience. Only candidates that would put themselves within this salary bracket based on their current experience should apply.
