And now for some home news… Legal Technology Insider, founded in 1995 and run by Orange Rag editor Charles Christian, has begun a merger with Innovators in Law, which was set up in 2010 by publisher Jeremy Hill (who has over 10 years experience in the legal IT sector including formerly publishing the Legal Technology Journal) to develop innovative new business tools for professional firms and publishers.

Initially this merger will see Innovators in Law take on the commercial management and delivery of the Legal Technology Insider newsletter and its portfolio of products, whilst allowing Charles Christian to focus completely on the development of the editorial content of the Legal Technology Insider brands. (Along with the Insider newsletter, these now include The Orange Rag blog – the most highly trafficked legal technology news source outside the USA, the American Legal Technology Insider newsletter, the Insider Top 250 chart, plus a range of software buyers guides.)

Innovators in Law has been formed to develop innovative new technology and information solutions for professional firms and publishers with its first UK product offering www.refermarket.com launching at the end of 2010 and in the USA in early 2011.

Innovators in Law will be investing and updating the whole Legal Technology Insider portfolio and existing subscribers to Legal Technology Insider and regular visitors to the online services will see a new enhancements and developments released over the next few months to improve the user experience and editorial content delivered across the various mediums in both print and online.

In addition to his editorial commitments to Legal Technology Insider, Charles Christian will be joining the high profile advisory panel of Innovators in Law, which includes:
  
    •    Marie Stevens – former global counsel of Ladrokes
    •    Peter Rouse – founder of Rouse & Co International and former CEO of 7 Bedford Row
    •    James O’Connell – former lawyer and currently CEO of the Institute of Paralegals

The advisory panel will be helping develop the global strategy for Innovators in Law as well as directing new business models and product offerings. Philip Woolley also joins Innovators in Law as business development manager he will also be taking on responsibility for the commercial management of Legal Technology Insiders print and online products.
