LONDON IT SUPPORT MANAGER (Legal), City to £80k + package
Technology Manager / Service Delivery Manager with legal background required by a prominent global law firm in the City. The role offers an attractive £60k-£80k plus bonus & benefits.
In this hands-on role, the London Manager of Technology will be responsible for managing the performance and delivery of Technology business services, to include management of local Technology staff, systems, telecommunications, services and processes. The individual will be effective in partnering with the business to continually optimise and improve the delivery and management of Technology business services.
KEY SKILLS & BACKGROUND
Degree (Computer Science, Business Information Systems) or qualified by experience
Experience in a supervisory or management role, leading and driving teams to ensure performance
Demonstrable service management and delivery management skills, including performance/process analysis, reporting and optimization (ITIL v2/v3)
Ability to develop knowledge of the Firm’s policies and procedures.
Expert knowledge and proficiency in a wide variety of software programs, including Windows 7/8 and Microsoft Office Suite and legal vertical market systems (e.g. DMS, time recording systems).
Knowledge and proficiency managing the support of mobile devices (e.g. PDAs, Smartphones, tablets), MDM systems (e.g. BES, Good) and communication technologies.
Possess good general knowledge of the principles and standards of server, network and inter-networking technologies (e.g. client/server systems, Active Directory) and network security (e.g. Encryption, dual factor authentication etc.).
General knowledge of common VOIP, videoconferencing and other comms technologies and systems
ABOUT THE ROLE
Managing the delivery of end-user training, consulting and educational programs for the Office;
Managing user Service Desk (Help Desk) operations, including advanced support and resolution
Managing the daily operation and maintenance of the Office’s entire technology operations
Consulting with fee earners / business services
Evaluating and recommending technology or processes to implement improvements
Ensuring the effective integration of local Technology business services and staff with global Technology services, staff and processes
Monitoring current and new technology and commercial legal technology market trends
Locally implementing and administering globally determined systems / service delivery standards
May assist and complete the typical duties of a Technology Support Specialist/Analyst, Network Support Specialist/Analyst, or Technology Trainer as needed.
