The 2016 Mattern & Associates Cost Recovery Survey just released tracked outsourcing and middle office trends for the first time and showed 11% of firms surveyed reporting outsourcing library services; 24% of firms indicating outsourcing of some on-site functions related to litigation support (technology or staffing); and records management proves to be a hot areas with 14% of respondents reporting they outsource records staffing, while an additional 7% of firms are considering doing so in the future. Traditional cost recovery for back office functions remained strong, with an uptick in non-traditional recovery strategies.
