Messaging Team Lead
Our client is a rapidly expanding and highly regarded international law firm with a truly global presence. The firm has gone through a period of massive expansion and is now seeking a Messaging Administrator Team Lead to join its London based team. The Messaging Team Lead is a key technical position, responsible for the operation, support and improvements of the entire Messaging environments. Providing appropriate architectural input as required, for enterprise scale technology solutions, acting as the subject matter expert within this technology area.
Maintaining a high performing , stable, reliable and resilient Messaging platforms will be a vital aspect of this role and will involve continuous improvement of current infrastructure and services, managing top level relationships with suppliers for services in the region and identifying technology trends & competitor analysis that may enhance the technology and support the business.
the postholder will assist in determining strategic direction for all regional Microsoft Exchange software, infrastructure and related Messaging services , and hold responsibility for delivery to the region with particular focus on service delivery, advising on operational and strategic IT-related issues.You will need to demonstrate advanced analytical and integration skills across a number of supporting technologies that complement the Messaging services whilst working with and influencing IT support teams in the region and globally.
Responsibilities will include:
Responsible for the Messaging service and technology , and as such, will work to agree and develop the region’s strategies and implement agreed plans for the region, in collaboration with the business and global IT teams strategic direction
Systems management, monitoring and recovery across the spectrum of Messaging infrastructure and services, supporting high-capacity, high-availability , business-critical applications and services
Ensuring that business continuity services are provisioned , available and regular tested, improving and expanding as appropriate to meet business and technological strategies
Adopt best practice approach to delivering and maintaining services, strictly observe all policies and procedures . Utilising IT security auditing, performance metrics and analysis to deliver management reports in compliance with service agreements and performance targets.
Produce detailed, articulate and professional written documents for the management team and peer group, ranging from proposals through to detailed technical documents .
Build strong internal & external client relationships as appropriate, establishing both a rapport and respect amongst colleagues, suppliers and product specialists. Good supplier contacts and relationships skills in the Messaging product environment
Foster a good working relationship with the Global IT teams throughout the firm and ensure effective IT Services are delivered to the region to support the UKMEA IT team.
ITIL Foundation Certified and understands the fundamental principles based on ITIL service management framework and similar IT governance structures i.e. ISO 9001 I 27001
You will need the following experience:
Team leading skills
Established commercial and technical expertise of systems management, monitoring and recovery across the spectrum of Messaging infrastructure and services and experience of implementing at an international level.
Wide experience of working with a variety of suppliers and product specialists across Messaging and related technologies
Understanding of national and international operations and working practices
Extensive Exchange Server skills in an enterprise size environment and be able to demonstrate very strong knowledge with 2003, 2007 and 2010, any experience with 2013 would be an advantage
Strong experience of Exchange Intra-Organisation environments, complex SMTP routing and Quest collaboration services.
Proven experience in Mobile Device Management, eg Mobillron, Good, BES, Active Sync, implementation , management and troubleshooting
Experienced in Unified Communications and Office Communication Server , including integration of MS Lyne with Cisco Jabber and video I collaboration tool integration, supporting Exchange 2010 UM for voicemail I Cisco Unity
Good understanding of Symantec Enterprise Vault , Mimecast, AD I DNS management , and remote working solutions UAG I OWA etc.
Windows server OS 2008 , clustering ,Windows Desktop 7, SAN storage , VMware , ESX, basic networking , switching , routing and firewalls
Good knowledge of scripting administrative tasks using Powershell
Ideally MCSE Certified
