NetDocuments has hired OnePlace sales director Guy Phillips as its EMEA general manager, who will lead the London team and act as a local figurehead for NetDocuments, with plans afoot to further grow its presence in the UK.
The cloud-based content management and security platform, which is headquartered in Utah, in 2016 announced plans to grow in the UK, hiring Dan Ibrahim from Thomson Reuters as director of strategic accounts and Steve Latter from Eclipse Legal Systems as account executive, after adding Cuatrecasas, Goncalves Pereira and top 100 UK firm, Sacker & Partners to its client roster. However, Latter in March left to join information management M-files and in the wake of winning transatlantic law firm Hogan Lovells this year, there has been growing market pressure on NetDocuments to appoint an office head to deliver on its growth plans.
OnePlace is a customer relationship management solution built on Salesforce and Mike Gibson, chief revenue officer at NetDocuments said: “We’re thrilled to be attracting people like Guy Phillips to our global leadership team – folks who have a deep understanding of legal technology coupled with experience in native cloud platforms.

Phillips, who was formerly part of the senior LexisNexis Interaction team, joined OnePlace in mid-2016 and his departure is a loss for the client lifecycle management vendor, which now has law firms including DAC Beachcroft, Reed Smith and Memery Crystal under its belt. At the start of this year OnePlace reported a 200% year-on-year increase in the number of seats at current and new clients worldwide, supported by a team that doubled in size thanks to a number of hires from LexisNexis.
