North heads south to Elite & Australia
Thomson Elite, part of the Thomson Corporation and a worldwide provider of business software to professional services firms, has appointed Justin North as its regional manager in Australasia.
Based in Sydney, North will manage Thomson Elite’s business development operations and be directly responsible for new business sales to the major accounts segment of the Australian and New Zealand legal firm market.
The appointment is one of a number of new hires and part of a wider reorganisation of Thomson Elite’s international operations aimed at growing its product and service offerings in the Asia Pacific market. The company has also appointed Mark Gower to the position of business development manager in SE Asia. Based in Thomson Elite’s new Hong Kong office, Gower will have responsibility for new business sales and client account management in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and expansion into China.
North, who has over a decade of experience working directly with leading firms in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region, is returning to Sydney to take up the position, having worked in London since 2001 as senior associate with specialist management consulting company, Baker Robbins & Company.
In this role he specialized in the management of legal information across financial, practice, document and knowledge management areas. Prior to his role at Baker Robbins & Company, he was a senior associate at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. He began his career as an analyst for top-10 Australian law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques.
North will report to Thomson Elite’s previous Asia Pacific manager, Kaye Sycamore, who retains executive responsibility for the region. As part of the recent reorganization Sycamore’s role has expanded to also include responsibility for regional sales in United Kingdom and Ireland.
