Nuance launches speech recognition competition
Nuance Communications, that's the company behind the Dragon NaturallySpeaking and MacSpeech Dictate speech recognition systems, has launched a Speech Recognition: Success @ Work story competition, which invites business users to share stories about how the products have enhanced and transformed their professional lives, and the role they have played in their organisations’ success.
Competition entrants can submit their stories online and through video clips, blog stories or community site entries, with prizes for the top three entries across all of the categories. To enter the competition, participants can submit their entries between now and July 30th by visiting www.nuance.co.uk/dragon-at-work and selecting the category they wish to enter. A current and active email address must also be submitted with their entry. Winners will be announced and contacted by Nuance in the summer of 2010.
The Speech Recognition: Success @ Work categories include:
• Speech Recognition transformed…Company Growth and Cost Savings – This category is for companies that can show demonstrable business growth, cost savings or improvements in customer service as a result of deploying Dragon NaturallySpeaking or MacSpeech Dictate.
• Speech Recognition transformed…Productivity and Career Prospects – This category is for people who have ramped up their productivity, improved their performance at work, or have been helped up the career ladder, thanks to desktop speech recognition technology.
• Speech Recognition transformed…Quality of Life at Work – This category is for businesses that were able to meet Access to Work requirements by offering Dragon NaturallySpeaking or MacSpeech Dictate to their workforce. It is also for those users for whom speech technology has changed their lives, by making it possible for them to use their computers more easily, or helped them overcome the challenges of a broken limb, repetitive stress injury, or any other injury that previously prohibited comfortable use of the keyboard and mouse.
All qualifying competition entrants will receive a promotional
code for a 25% discount on an upgrade of Dragon NaturallySpeaking or
MacSpeech Dictate. The first prize winner will be rewarded with five
hours of speech recognition training sponsored by Nuance. The second
prize is an iPod Touch featuring the latest speech technology from
Nuance, while the third prize is a copy of Nuance’s PDF
Converter Professional 6. A panel of judges selected by Nuance will
choose the best success stories from three categories.
