Two news deals in from Elite relating to their 3E product…

• UK-based law firm Olswang has selected Elite 3E as its new practice management system. After an extensive review of the options available, Olswang selected the system to serve its global staff of over 650, including more than 100 partners across six European offices.

“3E will become an essential tool to achieve our key strategic objectives,” commented Olswang's chief executive, David Stewart. “It will provide accurate management information for decision support, workflow of our key business processes, such as billing, and easier access to client and matter information for our lawyers via a fully web-based system to help provide better and more efficient service to our clients.”

Commenting on the system's advantages, Olswang's finance director, Edward Gordon-Hall, continued, “3E will enable us to drive profitability through enhanced financial management, aligned particularly with the global reach of our operations. In addition, 3E will provide the platform to empower our people to better manage their clients and their own performance.”

Comment: according to Insider records, Olswang will be swapping out their legacy LexisNexis Axxia DNA system in favour of the Thomson Reuters Elite 3E product.

• And CMS Derks Star Busmann has become the first law firm in Holland to upgrade its financial and practice management system to Elite 3E.

CMS Derks Star Busmann is part of Europe’s biggest legal operation, CMS, with offices in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Brussels and 200 lawyers working at the very highest level for businesses, institutions and government bodies.

“We looked at several global and more locally developed software options and found that 3E simply had more advanced features and functionality to support our business well into the future,” said Marten Kroese, Director, Finance & IT at CMS Derks Star Busmann. “Plus we were impressed with the responsiveness and knowledge from the Elite Services Team. We look forward to a successful implementation of 3E to help us maximize support to the business and run the firm more efficiently.”

The firm said a further reason for selecting 3E was Thomson Reuter’s commitment to the legal market and the long term viability of the organization. CMS DSB currently uses Hubbard One business development software applications.
