Linklaters has formalised its global agile working policy, with employees able to work remotely for up to 20-50% of their time. This is despite the fact that Linklaters signed a lease agreement for its new circa 350,000 sq. ft London headquarters at 20 Ropemaker Street just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

On 13 August, the Utah Supreme Court made history by giving the green light to a regulatory sandbox that will allow, for the first time in the United States, law firms and corporations to experiment with new legal structures including allowing non-lawyers to practice and manage law firms. Axiom spin-off and managed legal services provider Factor today (18 August) announces a significant new investment to be provided by Carrick Capital Partners (Carrick), an existing investor focussed on software and software-enabled businesses with over $1B in assets under management, who will become the majority shareholder of Factor. The deal, expected to close by October 2020, is said to represent one of the biggest net new investments in the global legal solutions market, although the value of the deal has not been disclosed.
Thomson Reuters today (18 August) unveils a new version of Thomson Reuters HighQ, within which the headline news is that Contract Express is now fully integrated within HighQ 5.4. E-billing and matter management solution Legal Tracker is also integrated within the new version.

Contract lifecycle management provider Agiloft today (17 August) announces a $45 million growth equity investment from FTV Capital, a sector-focused investor in innovative companies in enterprise technology and services, financial services, and payments and transaction processing.
