NetDocuments announced today that Paul Wyatt has joined the company to lead sales and business development across the Australian and Asia Pacific regions. Mr. Wyatt brings over 20 years’ experience to NetDocuments with a background in case and matter management solutions within the UK and Australian legal and corporate marketplace, including 10 years with LexisNexis in a variety of customer facing roles. Wyatt is a strategic hire for NetDocuments, as the company recently acquired the Decisiv Email technology and Sydney-based team from Recommind, where Paul was formerly leading email and search solutions across the APAC region.
COMMENT: The Vanishing Legal IT Pom in Oz trend – Paul Wyatt, who we first encountered about 20 years ago working for Linetime in a cold, grey, windswept Leeds in the North of England, is a classic example of the Vanishing Legal IT Pom in Oz trend, where Brits move to Australia to work for vendors or law firms on short-term projects (Wyatt originally went out to Australia to head up sales for Visualfiles) but then never return home. We think this may be due to either (1) the better lifestyle, climate and work-life balance available in Australia, compared with Leeds or Swindon, or (2) the better lifestyle, climate and work-life balance available in Australia, compared with Leeds or Swindon.
