Project Manager, North West/Midlands/Home based
Our client is an international supplier of technology to the legal and professional services sectors. The company has a wide portfolio of products, used by many of the leading law firms across the country. With business continuing to expand, they are now seeking a Prince2 qualified Project Manager to join their team.
The Project Manager will have end-to-end responsibility for the successful delivery of new implementations.
Working with the Senior Project Manager & Pre Sales team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities using defined planning, monitoring and controlling processes. With a particular focus around managing customer relationships and change management.
The Project Manager is responsible for Project Managing multiple on-going projects at any time and the job role will require frequent travel to customer sites anywhere in the UK.
Responsibilities will include
Planning projects in order to accomplish the goals required within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards.
Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Continuously monitor progress of on-going projects, reporting back to the management team and clients via weekly reports or other established reporting timescales.
Identify, analyse, record and manage actual / potential issues and risks, applying corrective action as necessary.
Tackling on-going issues as they arise and reviewing how more serious issues and risks might impact on the schedules, quality of service and cost.
Identify projects where requirements may be altered which could involve extra time or resources or where efficiencies can be made.
Ability to communicate ideas and plans to individuals, small working groups and large audiences.
Understand the technology & terminology used by specialists and technical staff in order to understand and question requests and to evaluate what is reasonable and possible.
Team Management & Organisation
Management/Scheduling of the Project resources.
The Project Manager should be knowledgeable in the use of appropriate project management tools and systems to assist with the management of people and tasks.
Work directly with your project team members and customer etc to establish resource requirements, plan activities and negotiate agreement on individuals appointed tasks.
Provide your project team with direction, vision & motivation. Must be able to listen, provide feedback, recognise strengths and provide challenges.
Assist with the creation of project documents, which may include; Projects AIR log, Project TRAP, schedules, reports, meeting agendas, and status reports.
New and prospective customers and their Project Teams.
Project Team (inc. Solutions Consultant, Training & Implementations Consultant)
You will need the following experience:
Ideally PRINCE2 qualified
A proven track record of successful project implementation, ideally within the software / technology sector
Team management experience, managing project teams of up to 10 people
Excellent client facing skills, working with clients at all levels
Experience of the whole project life cycle covering initiation, planning, execution and closure
Knowledge of Microsoft Project & project management methodologies
Good knowledge of accounting systems and practices
