Release Manager, International Law Firm, London – circa £55k + benefits
Our client is a highly regarded international law firm with offices in Europe, The USA and APAC regions. The firm is going through a period of sustained growth and is now seeking an IT Release Manager to join their highly professional team based in Central London.
The postholder will be responsible for the management of and co-ordination of the test and release of new software across the firms UK and international operations. The firm use a VDI environment and the post-holder will be responsible for developing and managing the process of ensuring applications are packaged, tested, deployed and released.
Key responsibilities will include:
To develop and refine the Release Management process, based on ITIL principles,
applied in a way that reflects the priorities and resources of the firm.
To work with project managers, the support teams and the Change Manager to ensure
that software releases are introduced in a timely and controlled manner.
To maintain a pipeline of scheduled releases, with a defined process for including
applications within an image, packaging, unit testing, piloting and formal release
To work with the Change Manager to ensure that changes to the environment are
properly coordinated and planned.
To identify process issues and work with managers and process owners to resolve
resource and responsibility issues.
To create relevant and appropriate process documentation and maintain relevant
To develop and report metrics to demonstrate the current state, effectiveness and
value of the Release process.
To contribute to the ongoing direction and development of the system.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
Experience in Release, Change and Service Management, gained in an ITIL-based
organisation. It is expected that the post-holder will have relevant ITIL qualifications.
A graduate or equivalent in a numerate subject.
Microsoft Windows 8, Office 2013, Exchange 2010, SQL, SharePoint and
Legal industry applications such as iManage, BigHand, Elite, Workshare, Template
Microsoft AD, SCCM, App-V, Citrix and packaging.
