The role

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior System Centre & Applications Engineer. This role will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and development of an effective, stable and fit for purpose desktop. This will include; management of associated hardware and software and the use of modern, effective configuration and support tools to support this. You will also maintain the integrity and proper configuration of the System Centre environment.

Key responsibilities:

Act as escalation point for 3rd line Desktop related support issues
Development and Support of the firms Desktop Estate
Management and Development of Desktop and Support Analysts
SCCM – Site Administration
SCCM / App-V– Software Packaging
SCCM – Image Deployment – Task Sequences configuration
SCCM – Desired Configuration Management
MS Office – Configuration and customisation, including MS Word templates and House styles
WSUS Windows Update – configuration and deployment
Active Directory & Group Policy management
Software Asset Management – compliance
Package/repackage applications ready for deployment using SCCM
Maintain the System Centre environment
Essential requirements:

Solid experience working with the full System Centre suite: Configuration Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, Operations Manager, Data Protection Manager, Orchestrator, Service Manager, Endpoint Protection, App Controller
Experience working with Microsoft WSUS for estate patch management
Experience working with Microsoft App-V
Experience of Packaging, Imaging and Deployment using System Centre (SCCM)
Experience of using Active Directory to manage computers, users and groups including associated scripting and configuration
Demonstrable experience of working with 3rd Party suppliers in the building of effective working relationships
Previous experience with Asset Management software
Solid experience in IT operations and/or related functions
Software troubleshooting experience
