Solution Architect, Global PMS Project – 12-24 mths FTC
Our client is a top tier international law firm. The firm is about to undergo an major programme of change around its legal finance systems including its Practice Management and Risk and Compliance Systems. The firm is seeking a Solutions Architect to work within its Finance Systems team on the selection, design and implementation of the new systems.

Key Responsibilities
Working with business users and project team to define the system and application scope, develop the integration patterns and interface aspects of high-level and physical designs; build integration roadmaps; meet project plans; review system / application components of the solution.
Review relevant output received from the supplier(s)
Define & evaluate reporting, risk, finance, time and integration architecture
Define the projects systems lifecycle management proposal – which systems will be replaced, will be interfaced with, will require upgrading, will be unaffected etc.
Define and support the implementation and deployment approach / planning In liaison with Enterprise Architecture ensure that firm-wide IT needs, strategies and principles are met across all areas and are working correctly and optimally for the project
Work with supplier(s) and colleagues to identify, scope, prototype (if needed) and cost estimate the major interfaces, integrations and development areas
Support the delivery of initial systems in readiness for project launch
Obtain sign-off through applicable programme and company governance

You will need the following experience:
Background in solution architecture and design; SOA; and system integration experience and interface design
Generation and collation of technical project documentation
Ability to comprehend and interpret financial terminology
Strong legal services background, especially within Finance or Risk Strong hands on application design and architecture experience
Strong understanding of multiple tiers of applications Knowledge of PMS, Financial, Procurement, Time Recording, Legal Risk & Compliance principles, functions and processes;
Strong hands on experience in Reporting and Business Intelligence, Integration and Workflow technologies; and security aspects of local and mobile applications; and Web Services
Background in: Rationalisation; application review
Understanding of reporting technologies; and all application tiers – databases, middleware and front end technologies

Suitable degree qualification in Computing, Information Technology or Information Science preferred, or equivalent professional experience;
Extensive experience with application design, integration, and deployment in an integrated global environment;
Experience designing and building scalable, distributed, robust systems;
Must be able to communicate technology ideas and issues with peers and IT Management;
Experience of a Legal Practice Management System such as Elite. Aderant,
Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
Microsoft Visio for process documentation
Experience in working with Third Party Software Development partners;
Desirable Experience
Experience in a Legal, Accountancy or other Partnership based firms
Experience in ERP systems
Agile as well as Waterfall development experience

The firms preference is for the role to be a fixed term contract until project completion – estimated to be between 12-24 months. The firm offers a competitive salary and generous benefits
