Disclosure Assistant is a brand new startup targeting one of the more manual and time-consuming processes in legal practice: reviewing bank statements. Aimed at legal professionals who regularly review financial records, the SaaS platform automates the extraction, organisation and review of financial transactions from PDF statements. With configurable review workflows and an integration with Clio Manage, the startup says its focus is to become the preferred bank statement review workflow platform for law firms. We caught up with founder Ahmed Hamed to learn more about the company’s journey, its plans for growth, and a little known fact about its genesis.
How would you describe your company to a friend?

No. Disclosure Assistant is currently founder-funded.
Have there been any key changes in direction since you were founded?
The original concept focused on bank statement analysis. After discussions with legal professionals, the platform evolved into a Bank Statement Review & Disclosure Assistant with configurable review workflows, explainable review logic, and a stronger focus on legal compliance and defensible reporting.
What are the key challenges in your market?
Many law firms still rely on manual review processes using PDFs and spreadsheets. The challenge is reducing administrative workload while maintaining transparency, explainability, and confidence in the review process. Legal professionals need tools that improve efficiency without sacrificing control or professional judgment.
