Start Up Corner: Lexidesk, an AI receptionist for law firms

In this week’s Startup Corner is Lexidesk, a fast-growing legal AI startup tackling one of the most persistent challenges facing smaller law firms: capturing and qualifying new business. Founded in June 2025 by Ivan Tryskyba, Lexidesk combines conversational AI, voice technology and legal-specific intake workflows to answer calls and web enquiries around the clock.

Targeting high-volume practice areas such as personal injury, family, immigration, criminal defence and estate planning, the company is positioning itself as an AI receptionist built specifically for legal services rather than a general-purpose voice assistant. Having already signed more than 50 law firms across the UK and US, launched multiple CRM integrations and expanded into outbound calling, the bootstrapped startup is seeking to differentiate itself through deep legal intake expertise at a time when the market is becoming increasingly crowded with AI voice solutions.

We caught up with Tryskyba and CTO Vadim Baranivsky to hear their origin story, how the company pivoted, its strategy, and a fact no-one else knows.

How would you describe your company to a friend?

Lexidesk is an AI receptionist for law firms. It answers the phone and website chat 24/7, figures out if a caller has a real case, and books them straight into a consultation — so firms stop losing leads to voicemail.

And to a techy?

Lexidesk is a conversational AI intake platform combining voice AI, telephony infrastructure, and LLM-driven qualification logic, with native CRM integrations and a state-of-the-art prompt architecture tuned per firm and practice area.

When were you founded?

June 2025

Ivan Tryskyba

Who are your key managers/senior execs?

Ivan Tryskyba CEO, Vadim Baranivsky CTO

Who are your target clients?

Small-to-mid-size US and UK law firms — personal injury, family, immigration, criminal defense, and estate planning practices — that get high call/lead volume and can’t staff round-the-clock intake.

What is your plan (growth strategy)?

Direct sales plus CRM marketplace distribution, content/SEO via our Knowledge Hub, and expanding product surface area (outbound calling, referral network, agent memory) to increase seat value and reduce churn.

Key achievements?

50+ law firm clients live across the US and UK; conversation-based pricing model shipped; multiple CRM marketplace integrations live; outbound calling feature launched.

Have you received investment?

We are bootstrapping

Have there been any key changes in direction since you were founded?

Pivoted from Caseguru (a lawyer marketplace, co-founded with Vadym Baranivsky) to Lexidesk’s current AI intake focus.

What are the key challenges in your market?

Law firms are slow tech adopters and risk-averse about anything touching client communication; trust and accuracy (no hallucinated legal advice, correct scope/conflict checks) are non-negotiable; and the market is getting noisy with general-purpose AI voice agents that don’t understand legal intake nuance.
