An AmLaw 50 firm is now automating hundreds of conflict checks a day through Caddi. We find out more about the ‘agent that builds agents’ to help you run the back office, including client intake and conflicts checks.
How would you describe your company to a friend?
Caddi builds agents that run the back-office work at professional services firms, like client intake, conflict checks, filing documents, prepping bills, and updating the CRM. The twist is that Caddi is an agent that builds those agents for you. Automating this stuff used to mean a big IT project. Now you just chat with Caddi and show it your workflow over a screenshare, the way you’d onboard a new hire, and it builds the agent that does the job. It also keeps getting better over time.
And to a techy?
Caddi Agent is a self-improving agent that builds back-office operations agents for professional services. Instead of architecting an automation yourself, wrestling a drag-and-drop builder, vibe-coding, standing up backend servers, and wiring integrations, you show Caddi your work on a screenshare and it builds the agent for you. The interesting part is the “build without IT” mechanism: an agent that turns a demonstrated workflow into working operations agents, then improves them as it runs, all across the tools your firm already uses.
When were you founded?
2024
By who?
Alejandro Castellano
Who are your key managers/senior execs?
Alejandro Castellano, CEO & co-founder
Aditya Sastry, CTO & co-founder
Who are your target clients?
Professional services firms of roughly 50 employees and up, with our core focus on law firms and RIAs (wealth and finance). We also serve adjacent regulated segments like banks, credit unions, mortgage companies, and insurance carriers. A big part of who we serve is the small and mid-sized firm: Big Law, big RIAs, and big insurance can afford the IT lift to roll out AI teams, which leaves smaller firms at risk of getting swallowed. Caddi removes that lift so those firms can stand up a digital workforce and compete.
What is your plan (growth strategy)?
Outbound sales, inbound seo, events, partnerships.
Key achievements?
An AmLaw 50 firm is now automating hundreds of conflict checks a day through Caddi. And a Top-10 RIA has been able to acquire other firms without having to think about operational headcount, because the work scales without the team having to.
Have you received investment?
Yes, a $5M seed round from Ubiquity.
Have there been any key changes in direction since you were founded?
Yes. We started out aimed at all professional services and have since narrowed our focus to law firms and RIAs.
What are the key challenges in your market?
Cutting through the noise. Every firm is being pitched “AI” and “automation” from a dozen directions right now, and law firms in particular have been promised automation benefits for years that never quite materialized without heavy IT lift. So a big part of the challenge is showing, quickly and concretely, that an agent can now build the automation for you rather than you building it.
Tell us something people don’t already know about the company?
Caddi got its start inside the AI2 Incubator, part of the Allen Institute for AI that Paul Allen founded, so the company’s roots run straight back to a Microsoft co-founder’s bet on AI research.
