After a successful four years at Peppermint Technology, David Thorpe (Sales Director), will be leaving Peppermint at the end of February. David will taking his first step outside of legal to lead the efforts of Bottle Rocket in establishing a European presence.
In a move that will come as a major rebuff to its doubters, Peppermint Technology has secured over £10m of funding from leading venture capital firm Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) and hired former BigHand and Tikit CFO Mike Kent and former Tikit non-executive director Neville Davis to its board.
The cloud-based legal and dispute management technology provider, which was launched in 2010 with the backing of OLM Systems, said the investment and hires would be used to accelerate its growth and strengthen its bid to become the dominant IT player within the sector.
OLM Systems will remain as a shareholder in Peppermint, which currently has more than 5,000 users across 30 legal and dispute management firms, including the likes of Blake Morgan, Penningtons Manches and Ombudsman Services.

It has been appointed by global giant DLA Piper to implement its mobile time recording solution to potentially 2500 lawyers worldwide, with only the Americas falling outside the scope of this project.
Darbys Solicitors has signed a multi-year contract with Peppermint Technology for its Legal Service Platform. The deal will see the 200 strong law firm, with offices in Oxford and Manchester, replace its old legacy Advanced Legal AIM practice management and legal accounts system.

Chosen over traditional legacy systems in the legal IT market, the Peppermint Platform will provide a full suite of software applications including practice management, case management, document management, legal accounts, CRM, and the Conveyancing Content Pack.
UK law firm Blake Lapthorn (number #59 on the Insider Top 200 chart) has selected Peppermint Technology for its next generation practice and case management software. The move will see it swapping out its IRIS Legal Videss accounts/PMS and LexisNexis Visualfiles case management software.
