TalkingTech: Real conversations on product adoption, pricing and data in legal tech

Away from the overwhelm of traditional conference halls, Legal IT Insider last week sat down in France with IT directors and innovators to reflect on what’s really shaping the sector – from the realities of AI adoption, to changes in pricing models, to the important work being done around law firm data.

Set in Chateau Canet, South of France, Legal IT Insider’s editor Caroline Hill chatted on camera with A&O Shearman’s legaltech applications senior product owner, Chloe Bradshaw; former Ashurst and Clyde & Co CIO-turned-consultant Chris White; and Talbots Law’s director & head of business innovation, Nisha Morjaria.

We discussed what criteria law firms are applying when it comes to product selection and what is driving adoption; whether AI is ‘just another tool’ in a law firm’s arsenal; and how firms can begin to leverage their data to create new client value.

The result is a relaxed but compelling, behind-the-scenes snapshot of a legal tech industry that is evolving fast. If you want a feel for the conversations that happened off-stage at Uncorking Innovation, this is well worth a watch. You can watch the full video at the bottom of this article.

Outside of the law firm technology conversation, we also chatted on camera with Jessica Clarkson, managing director of the Social Mobility Business Partnership, a volunteer-led charity that brings together 180 commercial organisations and firms to provide opportunities to students from low income backgrounds. Clarkson spoke at Uncorking Innovation about the ways that organisations can support the charity, and this video gives you just a snippet of what they do and how and why you can get involved.

SMBT was founded by Barry Matthews, who is group deputy general counsel of Pennon Group. Barry was previously at ITV, where he worked with Clarkson, who was a senior account management executive.
