Thomson enters recruitment software biz
Thomson International Legal & Regulatory (TILR) has acquired cvMail – www.cvmail.net – a leading provider of web-based recruitment and talent management solutions to law firms in Australia and the UK. TILR ANZ will manage cvMail Australia, and Sweet & Maxwell will manage cvMail's UK operations.
Founded in Melbourne in 2000, cvMail has approximately 50 top tier law firm subscribers and up to 160,000 law student and graduate users in Australia and the UK. cvMail is also in the early stages of extending its offering to accounting firms, banks, financial institutions and the corporate market. Commenting on the acquisition, Mike Boswood, President & CEO of TILR said: “cvMail is an excellent fit with TILR's evolving 'business of law' strategy to provide law firms with workflow tools that help them drive growth, improve profitability, and gain competitive advantage. cvMail solutions facilitate highly efficient recruitment of law graduates, practising lawyers and law firm support staff, and are therefore key enablers in optimising the process of finding and retaining the best and brightest talent. In addition, the majority of law students in the UK and Australia register while at university. The acquisition therefore strongly supports TILR's 'cradle-to-grave' strategy of providing legal professionals with services and solutions throughout the course of their careers.”
Two of cvMail's co-founders – Lee O'Mahony and Daniel Pelosi – will remain with cvMail to drive future growth and expansion under TILR ownership.
