Tikit has just announced that its TimeFinder “found time” passive time recording solution is now available as part of the standard Tikit Carpe Diem time recording suite (both the Enterprise and Classic versions). Tikit say the benefit is users now have both contemporaneous and end-of-day review time recording facilities within the same application from the same supplier – and no longer have to tolerate multiple licences and suppliers.

COMMENT: This story has been stuck in development hell for the past month, as the company’s intention had been to launch it at a Carpe Diem user group meeting but the timings and logistics proved problematic, hence its announcement today. It is also a moot point whether found time aka passive time recording is a good thing for law firms – or whether their CFOs would be better engaged trying to get lawyers to either record time temporaneously or else build automatic time recording into more applications and processes?
