UK & APAC legalit news: LexisNexis partners with Eclipse – no, the other one
LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions (www.lexisnexis-es.co.uk) has announced a partnership with Eclipse Computing (Australia) Pty Ltd, whose Data Migration Tool (DMT) is now being built into the LexisNexis business management system (code-named Nimbus) developed for the legal sector on the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 platform.
The Eclipse DMT will enable the Nimbus implementation team to easily transfer customer transactional data from their existing systems into the new Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 solution. The English Solicitors Regulation Authority’s accounting rules require legal services providers to report end-to-end on all transactions undertaken by organisations for audit purposes. Accurate migration of data is therefore crucial to the successful implementation of the new Nimbus platform.
“We selected Eclipse for the company’s advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics AX platform,” said Laura Whitehead, Head of Marketing, LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions. “It is important that we partner with organisations of the highest calibre and those that have an understanding of both our technology and the markets we serve.”
Recently awarded the 2012 Australian Microsoft Dynamics ERP Partner of the Year and welcomed into the prestigious Microsoft Dynamics Inner Circle, Eclipse has a team of more than 400 people globally supporting 1200 customer sites. Eclipse is committed to providing the highest level of customer service, development and support across Australasia and North America.
Bradley Stroop, Chief Executive Officer, Eclipse, added “Both organisations are driven by a customer orientated approach and commitment to continuous technological improvement. The Nimbus solution from LexisNexis is truly a next generation business management system, and we are looking forward to working with the company.”
LexisNexis say Nimbus, powered by Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 goes beyond traditional practice management software currently available to legal service providers. It drives operational efficiencies and enables evolution of competitive business models by integrating and harmonising all aspects of a firm’s operations – from client time recording to collections, financial management and human resources – to drive operational efficiencies. The solution also supports the evolution of competitive business models.
COMMENT: There seems to be a Freudian slip here by LexisNexis in selecting a partner called Eclipse as over in the UK, another company called Eclipse – this time Eclipse Legal Systems – is giving the LexisNexis Visualfiles and Solcase case management user-base a severe drubbing.
