First-class IT systems are absolutely key to the success of any business in today’s commercial world and the legal sector is no exception. Bond Dickinson LLP prides itself on being at the forefront of technological advancements within the legal profession, something we’ve become well known for. To remain competitive in our markets, and to continue supporting our growth strategies, our team of dedicated IT professionals have a key role to play, ensuring the integrity of the IT infrastructure, development of new systems and excellent support to all of our employees, and clients. We are now looking for a VisualFiles Case Management Developer to join our Newcastle or Bristol Offices and to work as part of our wider national IT team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced VisualFiles Developer to take ownership of one of our business critical applications using the expertise you have already developed to lead on the development, upgrading and ongoing support of our case management systems. As a newly created role, we’re looking to you to conduct an initial review of our systems and processes, with a view to creating a service improvement plan and preparing for future upgrades. Beyond that we’ll be looking to you to:
Develop the case management system with the aim of optimising the business efficiency and procedures.
Develop a plan to upgrade the environment to the latest release of VisualFiles to support changes to the desktop operating environment, including Office 2013.
To work with report analysts to ensure that VisualFiles reports are delivered to users including building tighter integration with Practice Management data.
Manage the integration of VisualFiles with other firm wide packages including the practice management system and the document management system (iManage/ WorkSite).
Work closely with the teams currently using VisualFiles to carry out business process analysis with a view to further enhancing and developing workflow processes
To become the recognised expert in the IT team, sharing your knowledge, supporting and mentoring other team members.
This list is by no means exhaustive and as the business grows and develops we see real scope for you to shape the direction of this role.
It stands to reason that we’re looking for some significant experience in developing VisualFiles within a legal context but we’re open minded to other professional experience. Experience of Microsoft Word and template development would be useful, but don’t worry, you’ve got the support of a team of experts around you if that’s not your strongest area. What is crucial for success in this role is a real can-do attitude towards problem solving, a strong emphasis on team-work, an ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
You’ll benefit from knowledge sharing within the team and will naturally embrace new technologies, ideas and our business requirements. We need someone who is flexible, with a forward thinking approach, the ability to work to tight deadlines and the drive and desire to make a clear difference within our firm.
Sounds like a great opportunity doesn’t it? We’d love to tell you just how great, so get in touch to hear more.
