Following on from an earlier posting about the upcoming Workshare user group meeting in London on 16th June, we've now got some screen shots of the upcoming Workshare Professional 7 product. The picture first shows the new config manager which consolidates four menu’s into one, streamlines the options removing over 90 and introduces a more intuitive interface. The second shows a new feature which automatically alerts the user on receipt of a modified document and provides 1 click access to the redline – all from within Microsoft Outlook.
Comment: We've already had a sneak preview of the new Pro 7 system (as well as talked to some integrators about the product) and have to say we were impressed. Looks like Workshare has got its core platform back on track and moved it up into the Windows 7/Office 2010 era. It will be interesting to see if this results in more reconversions with people swapping back to Workshare after having previously defected to an increasingly convincing competition.
