Legal IT Win: UK top 100 law firm Bevan Brittan selects Peppermint for CRM

UK top 100 law firm Bevan Brittan has selected Peppermint Technology’s Client Engagement module as its inaugural client relationship management (CRM) system following a competitive process.

The process was led internally by Tim Bartlett, Bevan Brittan’s director of business development and marketing. Peppermint won for its ability to produce a single customer view without increasing administration, and to deliver a tangible return on investment.

Owen Bishop, director of transformation and operations at the national law firm, said: “Client Engagement provides the market leading integration capability we require to connect with our other technology investments including 3E, Mattersphere and Introhive. This capability will allow us to provide our legal and business services teams with a single view of the client whilst reducing the operational burden placed on our busy development team. “

Peppermint entered into partnership in 2020 with Introhive, which automates data capture, including extracting data from email signatures, and maps that data to the CRM system, meaning that firms do not have to rely on lawyers to undertake that task.

Bartlett said: “Client Engagement will facilitate our ability to protect and grow existing clients and sectors, for example presenting real time financial information, client insights and fully integrated with all our marketing systems, helping our multi-disciplinary legal team further understand and develop their prospects, their clients, and their markets.”

Bevan Brittan last year saw its revenue exceed £60m for the first time, reporting a 7.2% rise in income to £60.08m for the financial year 2021-22.

Its managing partner, Duncan Weir, said at the time: “Exceeding £60m is a significant milestone for us but there is more to come. This has been a team effort and our ability to attract more high-quality, high-profile clients and recruits to Bevan Brittan shows that we are in a strong position to deliver further growth in the current financial year and beyond.”  Weir said that Bevan Brittan is considering options beyond organic growth, including acquisitions.

Peppermint’s CRM system will enable Bevan Brittan to understand where its biggest growth is coming from and where the firm needs to focus its resources.

Matt O’Callaghan, Peppermint’s chief sales & marketing officer commented: “Bevan Brittan are renowned for being a forward-thinking law firm that put their clients at the heart of their business. They have an ambition to significantly grow the firm over the next few years so we are naturally thrilled they have selected Peppermint’s Client Engagement module that will sit at the heart of this growth strategy. We look forward to welcoming everyone at Bevan Brittan to the Peppermint Community.”
